About Dr. Kim
Yesul Tina Kim, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive training and experience in diverse mental health settings. She received her medical degree from McGovern Medical School and completed her psychiatry residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. Throughout her career, Dr. Kim has worked in various settings including community-based care, inpatient and emergency psychiatric services, VA hospitals, organ transplant evaluations, and HIV/Transgender clinics. Dr. Kim is trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, couples therapy, and complex trauma treatment, with a specialization in multicultural and young adult mental health.
In her private practice, Dr. Kim employs a therapy-first, individualized approach to help her patients live their fullest lives. She meets each person with genuine curiosity to create meaningful, lasting change. Known for her warm and authentic style, Dr. Kim is dedicated to imparting practical knowledge and skills that empower her patients. As the director of the Psychotherapy Curriculum at Maimonides psychiatry residency, she continues to shape the next generation of mental health professionals.
